Guide research from phenomenon to scholarly conversation
A core challenge in supervision is bridging the gap between a student's initial interest, often framed around a practical industry phenomenon, and the disciplined world of academic research. Students frequently arrive with broad, web-informed searches that generate results lacking in theoretical framing or methodological rigour. The foundational challenge: From interest to inquiry
Students must learn to translate a practical interest into a viable scholarly inquiry. Clarifying rigour vs. relevance
